A Passion For Volunteerism

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina works with partner agencies to provide 38 million pounds of food each year to those facing food insecurities and hunger. That equates to over 31 million meals to help people in need.

Vulcan Materials Company hosts an annual sporting clays tournament to bring customers, vendors, employees, family and friends together to support Second Harvest.  Vulcan employees volunteer at the food bank.

“It’s nice to reach out and to do something above and beyond crushing rock,” Manager Operations Support Services Travis Tyndall said. “The community is only as good as everyone who makes it so we want to make it as good as we possibly can.”
