A Stretching Initiative

Promotes Safety and Health

The Vulcan Materials Company Mideast Division launched a stretching initiative designed to promote safety and health in the workplace. Volunteers for the video project included workers from Dulles Ready Mix, Stafford Quarry as well as employees from Barbers Corner Shop in Central Division.

Research has shown people who stretch frequently experience fewer sprain injuries and better balance. Participation in the stretching program helps our workforce increase range of motion and facilitate better balance. Stretching improves posture and speeds healing and recovery.

The video demonstrates a variety of different stretches that can help workers stay safe on the job and reduce stress. Congratulations to our industrial athletes!
